Weight Loss

“My labs keep saying ‘normal’ but I don’t feel well and can’t lose weight.”

Most people are surprised to learn that there are 2 different lab ranges when it comes to interpreting results. ‘Pathological ranges’ are standard on any blood work and is actually a bell curve average of all the sick people that go to hospitals. Pathological ranges also vary from region to region.

Thankfully smarter doctors, researchers and scientists knew they could find BETTER values so they pooled over 10,000 healthy individuals, not or drugs and not diagnosed with any diseases, and came up with what’s called the ‘functional or optimal lab range.’ Essentially, it’s a tighter window for each lab range where people feel great!

Here’s an example of what I see on a regular basis. Despite “normal” TSH levels, your T4 may not be converting optimally into the active T3 hormone. Most people I talk to have “normal” labs, but still feel sluggish and have a real tough time losing weight. If you are still having these symptoms, something is not being properly addressed. It’s time to dive deeper.

Researchers estimate that up to 90% of all thyroid cases are autoimmune in nature, Hashimoto’s being the most common (what my mom and wife have). Furthermore, 1 in 8 women develop a thyroid problem in their lifetime.

Testing all 10 thyroid markers (yes, there’s more than TSH & T4) is a great way to determine where the imbalance may be coming from. Proper diet advice, supplementation, and lifestyle advice are all important factors when it comes to having a robust metabolism and reaching a healthy body weight.

So whether you live in Tyler, Texas or Cape Girardeau, Missouri, you must address the root of the problem. If you’re frustrated and can’t lose weight but have ‘normal’ labs...click here for a free phone or webcam wellness consult.
